ESOL

SPS provides regular English language courses for Eastern Europeans.

Last year we delivered 3 courses funded by Castle Cavendish Ltd and 2 courses led by Nottingham University students. They were popular, especially our Autumn and Winter terms.  All our learners said they would recommend our course to somebody else.

Asked what difference coming to the ESOL class made to their lives, the majority of learners stated that it was having better language skills which gives them confidence – an important step towards becoming independent and making positive changes in their lives (such as better job prospects, being able to communicate with their GPs or teachers at their children’s schools).

In 2023 two levels are available for people who live in Nottingham: beginners and intermediate. 

Level 1 (beginners) – Tuesday (weekly), 1.00pm
Level 2 (intermediate, entry 2/3) – Tuesday (weekly), 10.30am
