{"id":2097,"date":"2023-01-05T13:11:21","date_gmt":"2023-01-05T12:11:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.empp.co.uk\/wordpress\/?p=2097"},"modified":"2023-04-13T10:41:35","modified_gmt":"2023-04-13T08:41:35","slug":"2097-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.empp.co.uk\/wordpress\/en\/2097-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Fat Thursday on Satuday!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Fat Thursday on Saturday<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">The Signpost to Polish Success organization invites you to the Fat Thursday on Saturday event&nbsp;on February 4, 2023 at the New Art Exchange gallery (NG7 6BE) from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm.<br \/>\nWe invite everyone, regardless of where they come from and what language they speak &#8211; we want to share knowledge about our Polish culture and treat all present guests with delicious, free, Polish donuts.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">This year, the leading theme of our workshops will be the outstanding Polish astronomer &#8211; Nicolaus Copernicus. We decided to bring this character closer, not only<br \/>\ndue to great achievements, important for the whole world and his Polish origin, but also due to the fact that the year 2023 was announced by<br \/>\nThe Senate of the Republic of Poland is the Year of Nicolaus Copernicus.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">During art workshops, we will create telescopes, i.e. everyday devices for every astronomer, and Toru\u0144 paper gingerbread, a symbol of the city where Nicolaus Copernicus was born. We invite potential sponsors to finance Toru\u0144 gingerbread to be tasted during the event.<br \/>\nWe will also screen a short animated film &#8222;Nicholas Copernicus&#8217;s first encounters with heaven&#8221;, which was created by the District Museum in Toru\u0144 to bring the figure of the astronomer closer to the youngest participants. Our wonderful volunteers will help during the workshops.
